Fines:

ILL Lost Item Fees

Interlibrary Loan Lost-Item fees can be substantial depending on the item.  A borrower who has lost an interlibrary loan item is subject to a standard $125 lost-item fee up to the cost of the replacement (set by owning library) and an additional $25 processing fee.

Test Kits

Overdue Test Kits

  • The fine for an overdue test kit is $5 per day.  There is a 24-hour grace period to return overdue materials without a fine.
  • After two weeks, an overdue test kit is assessed as lost.  The replacement cost for the full kit will be charged to the patron plus an additional $25 processing fee.
  • If a lost test kit is returned, the replacement cost will be waived and only overdue fines, capped to a maximum of $100, will be assessed.

Missing Components

  • There is a 24-hour grace period to report missing components without penalty.
  • After 2 weeks, the replacement cost for the missing component will be charged to the borrower.  If the individual component cannot be replaced from the publisher, the cost of the entire kit will be charged in addition to a $25 processing fee.
  • If the component is not missing, but is too damaged to be of use to the test kit, the replacement cost for that component will be charged to the borrower.  If the component cannot be replaced individually from the publisher, the cost of the entire kit will be charged in addition to a $25 processing fee.
